Calcium Silicon

Industrial silicon calcium alloy is an alloy mainly composed of silicon, calcium and a small amount iron, aluminum and other elements. lts melting temperature is quite low, generally only 980-1200 degrees Celsius. Silicon carbon alloys are produced by simultaneously reducing silicon dioxide and calcium oxide using a carbonaceous reducing agent in a arc furnace. The production methods of silicon-calcium alloy mainly include two-step method, mixed feeding method, layered feeding method and silicon thermal method.

Silicon calcium alloys are used as deoxidizers,desulfurizers and warming agents in the steelmaking industrySilicon and calcium in the silicon-calcium alloy have a high affinity for oxygen, and calcium has a high afinitor sulfur, and the deoxidized and desulfurized products are easy to float up and get rid of improving the performance of the steel, improving the plasticity and impact toughness of the steel. Silicon calcium alloys are used as deoxidizers and inoculants in cast iron production. Calcium silicon alloys are more effective than ferrosilicon in improving the properties of cast iron. Silicon calcium alloy can desulfurize, denitrify and increase silicon in cast iron, and it is also an effective inoculant to promote the formation of spherical graphite.
